KIST Teaching Hospital has signed a formal cooperation agreement with Medanta Hospital, located in New Delhi, India, with the objective of strengthening healthcare services and expanding service delivery. The agreement was signed today during a program held at Hotel Himalaya in Lalitpur, in the presence of Medanta Hospital representatives- Head of International Relations Navneet Malhotra and General Manager of International Relations Amit Kumar Ojha.
The hospital had recently obtained the international health accreditation, NABH Accreditation. Within just one year of receiving the NABH accreditation, KIST has initiated this international-level partnership.
Following the agreement, both hospitals will engage in the exchange of technology, expertise, and knowledge under the framework of Clinico-Surgical Excellence in Collaboration. According to KIST Hospital’s Director, Prof. Dr. Suraj Bajracharya, this partnership is expected to enhance the availability of advanced equipment and treatment services at KIST, making the treatment and follow-up services for complex diseases more accessible within Nepal.
The collaboration will enhance capacities in Cardiac Surgery, Bone Marrow Transplant, Radiation Oncology, and other Specialty Services. It will also create opportunities for training and professional exchange for doctors and technical staff.
A Telemedicine system will be established between the two institutions, and for critical patients, referral and treatment processes will be facilitated through Air Ambulance services.
KIST Teaching Hospital is a Multi-Disciplinary Tertiary Care Center, while Medanta Hospital is recognized as one of India’s leading Multi-Super Specialty International Healthcare Institutions. This collaboration has been named the KIST–Medanta Health Partnership.
